Breast Assured Foundation, takes of Round 4 of the WORCS Series

The weekend started off beautiful and sunny.  Race town’s motocross track is always a challenge.  Proving so again this year.  With one too many helicopter visits for downed riders, Friday practice was cut short.  On Saturday DWT announced they will be making pink rings for their bead lock wheels, and proceeds will go towards women’s wellness.  There has been nothing but positive responses from people on the breast assured rig and quads.  Many other teams and riders are now requesting our graphics, including the Can Am team.

Pink Ribbon stickers with all of our sponsors logos in the center are now being distributed at all the races to riders of all ages and moms, sisters, aunts and grandmas.

Saturday both Rick and Joe raced with Johnny Shafe doing the pro practice.  Rick our senior pro placed 2nd in the senior 50 class on Saturday, and 2nd in Sundays 40+ class.  Joe Shafe raced in the production A class on Saturday qualifying for the pro am race on Sunday. On Sunday after 2 grueling hours Joe finished the Pro-am in 10th out of 25 riders.

On Sunday it was time for Johnny Shafe to ride up to the starting gate.  With confidence and strategy he picked out his gate.  The gate went down and by the first corner he was in third place.  By the second lap Johnny was holding forth place.  Right before the pro log section Johnny was bumped off the track by another pro rider.  By the time he got back on his quad and got it started he was in last place.  With an emergency stop in pit row to make some quick adjustment on the quad he was off again.  Pushing to make up for the spots he lost Johnny was determined to get as many riders as he could.  Coming back on his 5th lap he miss judged the distance of one of the jumps and had to bail off the quad.  Unbelievable Johnny was up and able to finish after bending his tie rod back straight again.  He was able to finish the race in twelfth position.  The race may have not gone the way we wanted, but giving up is never an option.

Breast assured would like to thank all our sponsors including a special thank you to Douglas Wheel and Tire for a great tire provided at every race, and also to Lone Star for the new nerf bars which allow for better maneuverability on the quad.

Breast Assured Foundation was off to a slow start this year but with recent donations are looking to put on an event to give back to women with no insurance at an upcoming event in Phoenix Arizona. Details to follow soon.

 Thanks

 Joseph Shafe
